Welcome to

The Crow's Croft

A small family owned and operated farm in

Redmond, Oregon.

We raise Heritage Swine comprised of Berkshire and Duroc breeds. Our Pasture Raised Pork is locally processed and is USDA inspected.

WHY WE CHOOSE PASTURE RAISED FOR
OUR PIGS.

Pasture-raised farming allows our pigs to live in a more natural and humane environment. Our pigs have the freedom to roam, root, and exhibit their natural behaviors, promoting their overall well-being and reducing stress. Pigs raised on pasture have the opportunity to forage on a diverse range of plants, grasses, and other natural food sources. This varied diet contributes to the development of more complex and flavorful meat, resulting in superior taste and tenderness. Pasture-raised pigs tend to have a healthier fat profile compared to those raised in confinement. Our pigs' ability to move and engage in exercise leads to leaner and more well-marbled meat, which can contribute to healthier cuts, and an overall healthy product to consume. Our ultimate goal is to have happy healthy pigs and happy healthy customers.

Environmental Sustainability

Have you heard the old saying "what's good for the goose is good for the gander"? While we are not talking about geese here the intention of the saying still stands.  We raise our pigs on  pasture in a rotational grazing system this allows our pigs the freedom to root and forage, because we live in the High Desert our winters are cold and dry this allows them to be rotated from pasture to pasture all year long with out damaging the grasses. Not only is rotational grazing great for our pigs but it also helps with increased soil fertility, improved drought management, less wasting of forage, and reduces soil compaction. So in the end what's good for the pig is good for the earth.

WASTE NOT, WANT NOT

We at The Crow's Croft refrain from unnecessary waste, because of this we created The Crow's Croft Old Fashioned Lard Soap. For hundreds of years, soap has been made out of animal fats in many parts of the world. It’s only recently we’ve become a bit funny about using animal fats for anything. Lard makes a beautiful soap bar that is moisturizing for the skin, rich in omega-3 fatty acids, Vitamin E, and Vitamin A.

We use a combination including Castor and Coconut oil to give you a sudsy lather that you will  absolutely love.
