Our Story

The Crow's Croft is a heartfelt endeavor brought to life by Charles and Zoey Oquist, two Oregonians whose roots run deep in the rich tapestry of the Pacific Northwest. Charles hails from the vibrant community of Hillsboro, while Zoey's upbringing in Central Oregon nurtured her love for the land and its creatures. Raised in a rural setting, Zoey’s formative years were filled with farm animals and leadership experiences as an officer in the Future Farmers of America Redmond Chapter, shaping her passion for sustainable farming.

 

The seeds of  The Crow's Croft were sown years ago, ignited by the joyful moments spent watching their son, Kastle, toddle through pig pens, discovering the beauty of nature. Charles and Zoey envisioned a sanctuary away from the clamor of city life—a space where family and friends could gather to celebrate the simple joys of life amidst the wonders of the natural world. With a quaint house on two acres, they created a nurturing environment filled with gardens and a few beloved animals, all while ensuring their freezer was stocked with wholesome food.

 

However, as time marched on, that little patch of land began to feel constricting. By April 2022, the once-comfortable two acres seemed smaller than ever. The soaring housing prices raised doubts about their dreams of greener pastures. But fortune smiled upon them in June when they closed on the property that would become The Crow's Croft.

 

Officially established in January 2023, The Crow's Croft specializes in raising heritage swine, specifically Berkshire and Duroc breeds. These pigs were chosen for their superior flavor, marbling, and tenderness, embodying the essence of quality meat. Committed to ethical and sustainable farming practices, Charles and Zoey raise their pigs on pasture, allowing them to roam freely, graze on nutritious forage, and engage in their natural behaviors. This approach not only promotes the well-being of the animals but also enhances the flavor and quality of the pork they provide.

 

Every cut of pork from The Crow's Croft is locally processed and USDA inspected, ensuring that each bite meets the highest quality and safety standards. Here, in the embrace of nature, Charles and Zoey invite you to experience the true taste of heritage farming—a labor of love steeped in tradition and respect for the land.
